Trellis Farming

We're restoring the orchard (Field A) to productivity with soil enrichment, improved tree care, and crop diversification.

Growing up instead of out ⬆️🍎🥒🍅

Plum Hollow Farms includes an apple orchard (Field A) with 70 rows of Honey Crisp and Gala apple trees that are supported by a trellis and irrigation system.

Starting in 2025, we'll be transforming some of the rows with enhanced soil support and mixed planting to introduce vegetables, berries, and nitrogen fixers.

Tree restoration

Since 2023 we have been working to restore the orchard to health and productivity following years of neglect due to COVID.

Row conversion

We're introducing soil restoration and trellis-friendly vegetables, fruit trees, and berries to sections where apples have struggled.

Minimizing land use

One of the benefits of reusing the legacy orchard infrastructure is growing vertically, which reduces our land footprint.
