Plum Hollow Farms 2024 Year in Review

This year was full of incredible experiences and cool projects at Plum Hollow Farms. Here's a quick look back on 4 seasons of learning, growing, and laughs.

New regenerative zone

Plum Hollow Farms regenerative farming forest farm.

One of the most important projects we undertook was the creation of the trenches and mounds that make up the swales in Field D, formerly a tree nursery for the orchard.

This is the first of many such areas of the farm that we will be transforming into resilient forest farming zones with diverse planting of fruit, nuts, berries, herbs, flowers, vegetables, nitrogen fixers, and ground cover.

We built a solar greenhouse

As we shared in this blog post, the greenhouse project that started in October 2024 is now almost complete.

This design features a Ground Air Thermal System and solar power and will be a complete game-changer for farm operations.

We can't wait to get this amazing building into production in 2025!

We won BIG at Delta Fair

This was the second year we submitted entries at Delta Fair, Canada's oldest agricultural gathering that has been running continuously since1830.

While farm specialist Jaclyn lost first prize for her amazing pickles on a technicality (sorry Jaclyn!), overall, we crushed it.

Plum Hollow Farms took home ribbons in 9 categories, including beets, broccoli, heritage tomatoes, cucumbers, apples, garlic, marigolds, herb bouquet and more.

New logo and brand

How many swans do you see?

This year we launched a new logo and brand which we really love.

Creating these assets was an important step for the development of our website, blog, and social pages, all of which launched in 2024.

Other little victories

There were many other learnings, surprises, and slightly wacky stuff that helped to make 2024 an unforgettable year.

Friends of the Farm program

Successful farms are the result of a group of dedicated people who collaborate with their skill and passion.

That's why in late 2024 we launched the Friends of the Farm program to help more people get hands-on experience in regenerative farming.

Wishing the very best in 2025!

Our sincere thanks to everyone who shared our journey this year, including Graham, Renato, Jaclyn, Dan, Bruno, Leonard, Chris, Liz, Samantha, and Owen.
