The forest farm pilot project is the centerpiece of regenerative agriculture at Plum Hollow Farms.

Regenerative agriculture project ♻️🌳🌱💧

Starting in May 2024, Plum Hollow Farms will be designing and creating an 11 acre forest farm zone that will enable us to learn what approaches work best with our soil and climate conditions.

This pilot project will be a collaboration between our team, permaculture experts, and the Friends of the Farm volunteers.

Water management

The forest farm pilot project will introduce swales, keylines, and water courses on an 11 acre section of the farm.

Diverse planting

The planting will take place primarily on swales and include nitrogen fixers, vegetables, fruit and nut trees, and ground cover.

Sharing the harvest

Friends of the Farm receive a share in the harvest. Other portions support farm operations and local foodbank partners.
